Calm Down Your Anxious Nerves For CDAC, Bangalore (Knowledge Park)

Hello Guys and The Girls,
Hope you all got result of all your hard work, very well.
Here i am going to talk about what you can expect from CDAC Bangalore(Knowledge Park) and what is your responsibility towards it for the next 6 months.

The training here is as per the industry standards, i can say this because i can see it in my company that i am ahead of people coming from colleges and even can understand easily experienced people talking Vague.(This was inspired by my favorite trainer at KP). Its not like bookish theories being taught.

You can expect interesting classes all throughout. You can not afford to loose your concentration for a minute or else "The question is for you.....What did i say?".

You will get lots of books but will not have time to read, so you know the modules, arrange notes or interview material, whatever you have but not books.
You can see here always for material or can request also: Knowledge Sharing
Later Aptitude coaching is given but nobody goes as it is from 7 to 9 AM and then again normal classes.
There is no dress code except Formals on every Mondays.
Classes are on Sunday for only OS module, rest weekend off.
Daily, 4 hours theory and 4 hours practical with two people on one system.
Yes, its better if you have laptop, but can manage by putting more effort on labs.
The winters are not very cold, so heavy blankets can be avoided.
Two or three days are enough for finding PG for Boys.

Tips for DAC:

  • For OS, read daily whatever notes you get, you will be happy.
  • For other modules, blindly follow what trainer tells you, you will be in heaven.
  • Always keep in mind, English becomes hurdle for everyone there, be prepared.
  • Problem in having Lunch, lol, it was not meant to be here.
  • Never think of placements anytime, if it discourages you.
You can always share with me what you feel, comment below or give rating.
This will encourage me to proceed in the manner, i am.

Note: This is to encourage you people focus more on your career ahead, any deviation from it will be considered "Pathetic".

Best of Luck,  Countdown begins now.

Preparing for CDAC Common Theory Final Examination with Sample Papers

With all the happiness this rainy season has bought with it, I, Rajesh Mishra, will be giving you direction for Cdac final theory exam(so called "Pune Adventure") so that you do not feel yourself in dilemma, at this crucial time.
I am going to give subject wise sample papers link, a quick intro about project and a few tips from my personal experience. So, Lets get started.

Sample Papers Links

  1. Software Engineering
  2. Operating System
  3. Oracle Database
  4. J2EE
  5. C++ and DS
Some questions will be wondering in your mind.
1. Answers? "Sab kaam main hi karoon", some are already solved.
2. Is this useful? Well, during my time, i saw the sample papers after the exam(nearly got heart-attack). around 6 questions were directly from these papers, not for all subjects and please don't put more burden on my mind by asking in which subjects.
I saw during CDAC R&D written exam almost half of the questions were directly from these sample papers(By the way, I cleared the written test).
The overall level of difficulty for these examinations is high for Bangalore people because the papers are set at Main Center but the way of teaching here is to prepare for Industry specifics.
You can ask your Pune friends who get sample papers by center.

Project Adventure(Exclusively For Bangalore People only)

At this time, when you are about to enter a company, you should know how to keep balance between different activities. You have to decide about how time to give to project and how much time to give to interview preparation.
First of all, do not go for "NASA" project. At this time, choose your technology wisely(on the availability of trainer).
Some typical projects chosen in our time: online banking, e-banking, online banking transaction system, Inventory management, Bus reservation System, Online reservation, e-reservation, online examination, e-exam, Online job portal, etc. Just name should be different.
Follow the process.

Well, its time  to go now but will see you soon on some different page.
Please do not forget to rate interesting, cool or funny to give me feedback and Follow me on google+ below to get updated for latest blogs. Thank You.

Gearing Up for Placements at CDAC, Bangalore

Hope you all having good time at CDAC, Bangalore. I am going to tell you here just a few points to keep focused from the placement point of view.

First point and the major one, Follow whatever trainer has told you. I trust him like God for people like us.
In my time, most of the companies were for .Net, which I know is given least importance by us. Do not neglect.
The highest package and one of the consistent recruiter asks C++ and Java.
They ask some puzzles as well (Analytical).
R&D asks C, data structures as well.
Prepare on communication skills as some companies look for confident candidates (Personal Experience).
Briefly, What to do?
·        Prepare short hand notes like definitions with examples for all concepts so that you respond properly. Then, describe.
·        POCs, you all know, they help you to remember the concepts all through your lifetime.
·        I know, companies never ask very advanced concepts. Straight forward questions. Give straight answer (as told by trainer).
·        Aptitude, It is required in every field to compete but the level is easy for here.
·        Learn Sorting and String programs, some companies even ask to write these programs.
·        Do not neglect anyone of these. And of course, if you know these all, and are not able to make them understand, other friend may get the chance.
My Experience
There was written exam for Java, .NET, Aptitude and  Web Technolgies, each separately at same time. It was easy and my .NET was  good than many of colleagues, which helped me more. Around 27 cleared the written test. Luck was with me that day that HR and Technical round both were at the same time. For interview, I went after 23 people and when I was asking others about what they are asking, some said “nothing, just HR” & some “Both java and .NET”.  I relaxed a little bit then. It was my 5th consecutive day, and all day till almost last rounds.
When I entered, one lady and one Person were there. Lady started asking me about myself and from resume. I replied with confidence. She asked “Would you choose .NET or Java because you have done Training in .NET and projects in Java & .NET both?” I replied, “I have learnt many technologies in CDAC and learnt basic thing that concepts are persistent over all technologies. I am not a fan of any technology but if had to select only one, I would select .NET”. She said, “Finally, we have found one guy who knows .NET”. That was the moment.
My confidence increased then and I answered around 8 .net Technical questions with real life examples like Cricinfo for AJAX.  Got the good news soon.
Hope this gives you motivation to do well in your placements and might even see you in my company.

Overview of life at CDAC ACTS

Note: This was posted on January 2013, information may change with time or even mislead you, please i request readers to apply some common sense and not to trust every word blindly. This thread is closed for comments. Please don't expect answer for your comments as this is old post and I no longer in touch with what is current situation.

Welcome! New Aspirants. Happy New Year to you all. I am a 2012 year pass out and pursuing PG-DAC from CDAC Bangalore.
Bangalore seems me to be a very fascinating place. I have been here for nearly 5 months now and just have fallen in love with the breeze here.
CDAC is a government organization which provides training to IT individuals as per Industry Standards. I have seen the change in myself. I thought during college life that I know much and is good in my field as a Fresher but it all seems it was my perception, now. Here, I got to learn aspects of IT industry that a fresher cannot imagine by himself. The approach to learn was such that Coding now seems to be the easiest part in industry.
For those who are about to join, I can only confirm till now, Knowledge is limitless, see how much you can catch. Bangalore is an excellent centre for learning. My placements have not been started yet (may start around 10th Feb 2013).
CDAC ACTS, Banaglore Knowledge Park
CDAC ACTS, Bangalore (Knowledge Park)

Beware Of Nagrajan PG! it is the last thing you should look for.
Note: Go to 5th main, Bakery Shop. You can ask there about PGs nearby.
OTHERS: Near big bazaar, on the same road as CDAC. Pi-layout. CV Raman Nagar.
Location: Near IndiraNagar Metro Station. Good Pgs available there also.
Why don't you join some CDAC group in facebook and find out buddies and join together. It is always great to have someone to share.
Winding up The Talk
You need to worry about studies only here. Rest are taken care by CDAC. For example, this year, they gave us treat in NAVRATRI. We had a movie show for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, with snacks. We played Cricket Tournament recently, which was last to say good bye guys!!!
6 Months can change your life!!!
